Black Women’s Health Imperative (BWHI) celebrated its 40th anniversary with the launch of its first State of Black Women (SOBW) symposium.
The event was held at BWHI’s birthplace, Spelman College in Atlanta, and featured panel discussions, white paper presentations, and keynote speakers from the scientific and medical communities. Discussions covered the economy, politics, health, and education.
To kick off the symposium, Spelman College President Dr. Helene D. Gayle made opening comments. The symposium aligns with Spelman College’s mission to educate, prepare, uplift, and empower Black women.
